Jembrana Regent Condemns Red And White Flag Crossing Action
JEMBRANA - The Regent of Jembrana, Bali, I Made Kembang Hartawan, condemned the decline and removal of the red and white flag.
The video of the red-and-white object removal took place at Pecangakan Park, in front of the Jembrana Regent's Office, which occurred on Tuesday (18/11) night.
In the video circulating, two men lowered the red and white flag and crossed out the pole and flag.
"I regret at the same time condemning the actions of irresponsible persons lowering the red and white flag and doodleing. For me, the red and white flag is not just a cloth, but is a symbol of sovereignty, history, as well as a struggle. So this is something I think has insulted the state symbol," said the Regent of Kembang, Thursday, November 20.
Responding to the incident, the Jembrana Regency Government took coordinative steps with the security forces and handed over the handling of this case completely to the police.
"Therefore, we local governments coordinate with the police chief, the Dandim, and all officers to be able to help resolve this issue. We leave it entirely to the police chief on this case," he said.
His party also asked the residents of Jembrana to remain calm and not be provoked. He ensured that the authorities were handling this case.
"I also hope that the people of Jembrana, do not be provoked, remain calm, because we have handled all these problems together, and the police have worked hard for that," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the progress of the investigation, Jembrana Police Chief AKBP Kadek Citra Dewi Suparwati stated that her party had pocketed a number of clues.
"We have carried out an in-depth investigation of the clues we have obtained," he said.
