Disturbed MRT Service, Transjakarta Add Buses On Routes

JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta has increased the number of buses serving passengers on a number of routes that are in line with MRT Jakarta services. This is related to MRT operational disruptions which resulted in the termination of services at several stations.

Currently, Transjakarta is accelerating the waiting time (headway) for services in corridor 1 with the Blok M-Kota route. The headway for each bus is accelerated to every three minutes.

Then, Transjakarta also added 4 buses on the S21 (Ciputat-CSW) route, bringing the total fleet operating on this route to 22 units. In addition, the addition of 4 fleets was also carried out on route 1E (Labu-Blok M box), bringing the total bus serving 16 units.

"PT Transjakarta is acting quickly in response to operational disturbances that occurred at the Jakarta MRT service," said Head of the Public Relations Department and CSR Transjakarta Ayu Wardhani in a statement, Thursday, November 20.

Ayu said that the addition of bus units and headway shortening was carried out to maintain the smooth mobility and capacity of the public using public transportation on the main routes.

"We immediately coordinated the addition of this fleet as a quick assistance to maintain the mobility of residents, especially MRT customers. Our commitment is to ensure mobility remains smooth, fast, and comfortable," said Ayu.

Meanwhile, Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Rendy Primartantyo revealed that some of the Jakarta MRT stations had returned to serve passengers after service disruptions that had occurred since this morning.

MRT Jakarta operations are still running on limited routes, with stations operating starting from Lebak Bulus Station, Fatmawati Indomaret Station, Cipete Raya Station, Haji Nawi Station, Block A Station, and Blok M BCA Station.

"MRT Jakarta is currently running a limited travel route scheme, namely the operation of services from Blok M BCA Station to Lebak Bulus Station and also the opposite route using four train series," Rendy said in his statement.

The cessation of MRT Jakarta's operations due to disturbances occurred since 10.26 WIB. The disturbance occurred due to a fallen tree on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Kebayoran Baru, or in the route transition area from Senayan Mastercard Station to ASEAN Station. This causes damage to the structure and disruption of the electricity network.

"At the time of the incident, it was recorded that five series were at the station and three series were on track," said Rendy.

When the train service was stopped, MRT officers immediately asked all passengers to get off the train and go to the nearest station with the officer's guide in the field. A number of passengers took turns leaving the carriage in the evacuation process.

"MRT Jakarta has completed the evacuation process according to procedures for 524 customers from a number of train and affected station areas," he said.
