Menbud Fadli Zon Calls AMI Awards 2025 Becomes A Barometer Of The National Music Ecosystem
JAKARTA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon attended the peak night of the 2025 AMI Awards which was held at Ciputra Artpreneur, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 19. He emphasized that this event was an affirmation of the role of music as a unifying force for the nation.
Fadli said that music is not only an artistic expression, but also a engineer of growth' that drives the cultural economy.
The 28th AMI Awards have the theme Bhineka Tunggal Suara which highlights the diversity of Indonesian musicians' genres, culture and backgrounds. Fadli said AMI is a barometer of the national music ecosystem, as well as a space to read the direction of the industry going forward.
"AMI reflects on the future that we want to build together," he said in an official broadcast, November 20.
This year, AMI recorded 5,227 registered songs for the highest number in recent years. A total of 63 categories and five special awards were read out in two sessions, including the presence of representatives of the Music Awards Japan which handed over the International Special Awards for Salma Salsabil and Creepy Nuts.

Minister Fadli also handed Lifetime Achievement Performance to guitar maestro Jopie Item. YAMI also gave awards to Jan Djuana (Producer) and James F. Sundah (Composer).
The event, hosted by Robby Purba and Sere Kalina, featured Raisa, Afgan, Rony Parulian, Hindia, to Wijaya 80. A number of officials attended, including Presidential Staff Yovie Widianto and the leadership of the Ministry of Culture.
"The Ministry of Culture is committed to strengthening the music ecosystem so that it is more known at the national and international levels," said Fadli.
The winning list includes various genres, from the Indies to Best Albums, Raisa to Best Pop Female Solo Artists, to Prince Poetiray as Best Newcomers.
