Trump Sends Pentagon Delegation To Ukraine To Discuss Peace Talks

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump sent a high-level Pentagon delegation to Ukraine to restart peace negotiations aimed at ending Russia's war in Ukraine.

The delegation was led by Secretary of the Army Danmen and accompanied by two four-star generals who were sent as part of a new effort to revive negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, an official told The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, the group is scheduled to hold a meeting on Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, senior government officials, military leaders, and representatives of the defense industry, while Lord is also expected to meet with Russian officials in the future.

A senior government official told WSJ a visit was aimed at assessing "facts on the ground" and briefing the White House on the matter.

"The president has confirmed it is time to stop killings and make a deal to end the war," the official said.

The White House's decision to appointchaotics, whose portfolio mostly focuses on US army training and equipment, reflects frustration over previous initiative failures and Moscow's belief will likely respond more positively to military-related envoys, according to the report.
