Australian Open 2025: 11 Representatives To The Second Round

JAKARTA A total of 11 out of a total of 13 Indonesian representatives who participated in the Australian Open 2025 managed to secure a ticket to the second round.

The series of matches from the first round of the BWF Super 500 level tournament were completed on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, evening WIB.

Jonathan Christie became Indonesia's last representative to fight for the second round of tickets. Unfortunately, the first seed lost badly against Yushi Tanaka from Japan.

The failure of the athlete who is familiarly called Jojo makes the hope of Indonesia's men's singles running low, only on Alwi Farhan's shoulders. Jonathan was eliminated with Yohanes Saut Marcellyno who started the struggle from the qualifying round.

Putri Kusuma Wardani as the only representative in the women's singles sector also still survives in the tournament. The second seed qualified for the second half after defeating Sung Shuo Yun from China Taipei.

All three representatives in the men's doubles sector are still safe, namely Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

A smooth journey was also passed by the women's doubles sector. The four representatives who were sent to this tournament, all joined forces to guard their dreams.

The four pairs in question are Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, and Rachel Alllessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum.

Good results also get mixed doubles. Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil and Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu who were fielded, all won.

The second round of the Australian Open 2025 match will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2025, starting at 12.00 local time or 08.00 WIB.
