Students In Deli Serdang Kill Their Friends While Sleeping After Using Marijuana

The Medan City Police (Polrestabes) uncovered a criminal case of murder of a student in Patumbak District, Deliserdang Regency.

Medan Police Chief Kombes Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak said the victim, whose initials were BRG (18), was killed by a friend while staying together at his residence.

"The victim was killed by his friend while sleeping at his house in the early hours of Saturday (15/11)," Jean Calvijn said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 19.

He explained that the murder case was revealed after Medan Police and Patumbak Police personnel received reports of occupants of the house in a lifeless condition covered in blood.

Furthermore, officers conducted an investigation by processing the crime scene and examining a number of witnesses.

"The suspect has the responsibility to pay the motorcycle installments," he said.

The police chief said that according to the results of the investigation, the victim and the suspect previously bought marijuana and played billiards on Friday (14/11).

After playing billiards, Jean added that the suspect who was staying at the victim's residence took drugs together.

"When the victim fell asleep, the suspect immediately killed the victim using an incomplete knife and scissors. The suspect then took a number of valuables belonging to the victim, such as a cellphone, motorbike and wallet and others," he said.

After committing the murder, he said the suspect fled on the victim's motorbike to the city of Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra.

"Based on the results of the investigation, personnel can arrest suspects at the scene of the murder when they return from their escape in Tanjungbalai city," he said.

Jean said the case of the murder of the victim had been planned by the suspect to take control of his friend's property.

"The perpetrator was single, alone," he said.
