Russian Missile And Drone Detection Kills 19 People In Ukraine

The Russian drone and missile (drone) that hit the city in western Ukraine killed 19 people. Currently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in Turkey for high-level negotiations to garner diplomatic support against Russia's invasion of his country.

The night attack hit two blocks of a nine-story apartment in Ternopil, located about 200 kilometers (120 miles) from the Polish border, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

An emergency team is combing through debris during the day to find survivors, he said. At least 66 people, including 16 children, were injured, authorities said.

Russia fired 476 attacks and bait drones, as well as 48 missiles of various types, on Ukrainian targets overnight, Ukraine's air force said. The bombing involved 47 cruise missiles, with air defenses intercepting all but six of them, the air force said. The West-packed F-16 and Mirage-2000 jets intercepted at least 10 cruise missiles, he said.

"Any blatant attack on daily life shows that pressure on Russia (to stop the war) is inadequate," Zelenskyy wrote on the messaging app Telegram.
