Prabowo Inaugurates Infrastructure Of Nearly IDR 2 Trillion In Four Provinces

BANTUL - President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated five transportation infrastructures in four provinces built by the Ministry of Public Works (PU) with a total investment of almost IDR 2 trillion.

The inauguration agenda which took place at the Kabanaran Bridge, Yogyakarta Special Region, consists of the Kabaran Bridge, Canguk Flyover and Joglo Underpass in Central Java, Sambas Besar River Bridge in West Kalimantan, and Gatot Subroto Underpass in North Sumatra.

"Today, we can gather at the inauguration of the Kabanaran Bridge in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, (as well as inaugurate, red) the Sambas Besar Bridge in West Kalimantan, the Canguk Flyover in Magelang, the Gatot Subroto Underpass, and the Jogja-Solo Underpass," said the President. reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 19.

In his statement, the Head of State expressed his gratitude for the hard work of all those who have worked.

The President left a message that all infrastructure be maintained in order to continue to provide great benefits to the economic sector and regional tourism.

"And also for the next time, the Public Works Department will carry out infrastructure projects as well as possible," he said.

The Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom) said the total infrastructure development reached Rp1.97 trillion.

The infrastructure development, which includes two bridges, two underpasses, and one flyover, also absorbs 10,461 construction workers in four provinces.

The first inauguration was marked by the completion of the Kabanaran Bridge in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The project worth IDR 863.72 billion was built for 579 days involving 4,578 workers.

This bridge is an important node for connectivity in the corridors of the South Cross Road (JLS), cutting travel time by about 20 minutes, as well as strengthening the agricultural, logistics and tourism sectors in the southern region of DIY.

In Central Java, the President inaugurated the Canguk Flyover in Magelang City and Joglo Underpass in Surakarta City.

Flyover Canguk, which was built with a budget of IDR 99.60 billion in 395 days and absorbs 528 workers, is here to unravel congestion at the strategic point of Magelang.

This infrastructure increases the efficiency of vehicle operational costs while accelerating travel in the Canguk intersection area.

Meanwhile, Joglo Underpass in Surakarta is one of the projects with significant impacts. Built for 390 days at a cost of Rp312.9 billion, theunderpassini involved 1,658 workers and was able to reduce travel time from 5.12 minutes to only 0.6 minutes' efficiency reached 89 percent.

Traffic speed is reported to have increased by 300 percent and has the potential to save vehicle operating costs of more than IDR 3.2 million per hour.

The President also inaugurated the Sambas Besar River Bridge in West Kalimantan, a project that cost Rp479.77 billion and was built for 1,119 days. By involving 2,543 construction workers, this bridge cut the area's travel time from the previous 1 hour by ferry to just five minutes by land.

This infrastructure also strengthens connectivity towards the Indonesia 'Malaysia border area.

The latest infrastructure, in North Sumatra, is Gatot Subroto Underpass in Medan City. This infrastructure worth IDR 217.83 billion was built in 463 days with 1,154 workers.

The agency reduces travel time at the Manhattan intersection from 4.25 minutes to just 1.13 minutes, as well as smoothing the flow of traffic to and from the center of Medan City via Jalan Gatot Subroto.
