Chery Affirms Safety Commitment, Tiggo 4 Wins 5 Star ANCAP Rating

JAKARTA Chery emphasized its focus on safety aspects by presenting Tiggo 4 as a global model designed to provide maximum protection for families, including children. This model is referred to as a movable safety fort' thanks to the body frame and comprehensively developed safety features.

"Chery said that Tiggo 4 uses an integrated cage frame structure with more than 60 percent of high-power steel. The main protection area is also reinforced by hot-formed Bentaler steel with a magnitude of more than 1,500 MPa, equipped with beam of forward collisions made from aluminum and a galvanical steel panel. This structure is designed to absorb and divert the impact energy so as to maintain the integrity of the passenger cabin," Chery wrote in an official statement received Wednesday, November 19.

In addition to a solid framework, Tiggo 4 is equipped with seven airbags as standards, including a far-side airbag between front seats to prevent clashes between passengers during side collisions. For the safety of children, the back seat has been equipped with an ISOFIX anchor and a top-tether to ensure the correct installation of child seats.

This model is also equipped with a number of family-friendly features such as an electric window with an anti-jepit sensor and a child safety lock on the back door. The rear passenger reminders system is also embedded to prevent children from falling in the vehicle after the engine is turned off.

In terms of cabin comfort, Tiggo 4 uses CN95 class air filters capable of filtering more than 95 percent of PM0.3 particles. The dual-zone auto-Cymally control system with special ventilation in the back row ensures optimal air circulation for all passengers.

To increase active protection, Tiggo 4 is equipped with an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system that can detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. The system is designed to respond in a matter of milliseconds to high-risk scenarios, including when the child suddenly runs to the road.

Chery's commitment to global safety standards was also proven through the achievement of the Tiggo 4 Pro in Australia. In February, the model won the ANCAP 5-star safety rating with a score of 87 percent for child passenger protection.
