Lalamove Survey: 54 Percent Of MSME Actors Optimistic, Fee Efficiency Is The Main Focus Amid Economic Uncertainty
JAKARTA - Lalamove, the leading on-demand delivery platform and ride-hailing, released the results of its latest survey highlighting the views of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia on business conditions and logistical challenges they face.
The survey shows that more than 54 percent of MSME players are optimistic about the business prospects for the coming year, while at the same time affirming the importance of fast, safe, and affordable delivery services in maintaining a smooth operation in the midst of a dynamic economic situation.
The survey, which was conducted in October 2025, also shows that more than 80 percent of MSME players assess on-demand delivery services at affordable prices such as Lalamove play an important role in maintaining efficiency and business competitiveness, especially in the midst of increasing operating costs and strict market competition.
From the various logistical aspects assessed, shipping security, affordable prices, and cost transparency without hidden additions are the three main priorities for MSME players in choosing shipping partners.
This finding confirms the increasing awareness of MSME players towards the importance of supply chain efficiency and cost control as a strategy to survive in a stressful economic situation.
Managing Director of Lalamove Indonesia Andito B Prakoso said, MSMEs are now increasingly selective in choosing logistics partners.
"They are looking for solutions that are not only fast and safe, but also provide added value in the form of cost efficiency and service reliability. We are committed to becoming a strategic partner for business actors through flexible, transparent, and easily accessible logistics services," he said.
In addition to highlighting the level of optimism for business prospects, the survey also describes the operational characteristics of MSMEs in Indonesia.
The majority of respondents used a two-wheeled fleet, Sedan and pick-up box to support daily delivery, with the category of goods most frequently sent including culinary products, retail, and household needs.
The tariff feature includes toll fees, the use of special shipping bags (Labawang) and extra helpers to become the three additional aspects most widely used by MSME players to maintain security and delivery efficiency.
In addition, the existence of a comprehensive protection option using shipping insurance is also one of the steps that Lalamove has taken to support shipping security.
In terms of challenges, survey results show that low consumer purchasing power, high logistics costs, and increasing rental costs are the main obstacle for MSMEs in maintaining business stability.
This condition requires business actors to continue to adapt to changes in consumer behavior and take advantage of logistics technology more efficiently.
Through various initiatives such as Lalamove+ (a customizable delivery service with business needs), delivery price options include priority, regular & pooling, and user loyalty programs,

In line with these findings, this trend shows the increasing need for more adaptive and efficient logistics solutions.
"The survey results also recorded high demand for services at the user level, as can be seen from the dominance of business accounts and more than 50 percent of respondents use the Lalamove service more than five times per week. Our focus is on presenting logistical solutions that support the sustainability of the MSME business, both in terms of time efficiency and cost," concluded Andito.
Towards the end of the year, increased economic activity and spikes in seasonal demand such as delivery of fashion products, hampers, flowers, and event needs are expected to continue to encourage demand for fast and efficient logistics services.
Lalamove is optimistic that the combination of speed, reliability and flexibility will be a key factor for Indonesian MSMEs to maintain sustainable growth amid global economic challenges.
