The Indictment Of The Corruption Case Of Oil Governance Is Considered Unproven Lawyers
JAKARTA - The attorney for the Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritime Dimas Werhaspati, Patra M Zen, said that the public prosecutor (JPU) could not prove the charges against his client regarding the alleged corruption case of oil governance.
This was conveyed by Patra after the trial of the alleged corruption case of crude oil management and refinery products at PT Pertamina for the 2018-2023 period at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) Tuesday, November 18.
"In conclusion, since the reading of the indictment until today's trial, the prosecutor has not or cannot prove his indictment," said Patra.
In today's trial, the witnesses presented by the prosecutor were deemed not to support the four charges addressed by the prosecutor to his client. According to him, the two witnesses did not know the direct appointment process related to the rental of the Merak BBM Terminal as stated by the prosecutor.
The witnesses presented were VP Marketing & Commercial PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), Muhamad Resa and Senior Sales Executive I Crude Oil Cargo PT PIS Yessica Ratri Wiguna.
Patra said, during the trial, the two witnesses also admitted that they were not aware of Dimas' involvement in the financing process, payment for the rental of the VLC ship.
Patra said that based on Muhamad Resa's testimony, the profit with a margin of 12 percent to 15 percent was not related to the rental of the VLC ship.
"Margin 12 to 15 percent never existed related to the rental of the FLC ship," he said.

Patra also said that the two witnesses also admitted that they did not know about the receipt of fees of 2 percent to 3 percent related to the ship rental as indicted by the prosecutor.
He then denied that the rental of the VLC ship was detrimental to the state. On the other hand, the chartering of the ship actually made the state save up to US$4.3 million.
"Until today, there is none. In fact, from their testimony using the VLC, KPI (PT. Pertamina International Refinery) saves 4.34 million US dollars," said Patra.
"Because the defendant Dimas' information uses a VLCC ship, which was previously looking for a Suez ship, the state saves US$4.33 as well. Not detrimental, it saves," he concluded.
