Kremlin Says Ukraine Has Not Informed Readiness To Continue Negotiations
JAKARTA - Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday the Ukrainian side had not yet responded to Russia's peace initiative, as well as information on its readiness to resume negotiations with Moscow.
"No, so far we have not received any information from Kyiv. Apparently, (Volodymyr) Zelensky refers to the contact that will take place tomorrow in Istanbul," Peskov said at a press conference.
"This is Zelensky's contact with our Turkish friends, who are likely to join (US President Steve's Special Entrance) Witkoff," Peskov said.
The spokesman said the Kremlin would wait for the results of negotiations in Istanbul, Turkey.
Earlier, President Zelensky announced he would visit Turkey on November 19 "to continue negotiations" regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
According to him, the Ukrainian delegation will convey their ideas to their partners and discuss the resumption of the prisoner swap.
However, the Ukrainian leader did not mention who he would meet in Turkey or what his ideas were.
