Clashes Between Groups Scorch 7 Houses In Makassar
Clashes between youth groups between Kampung Sapiria and Borong Taipa (Borta) resulted in seven houses on stilts being burned to the ground when a brawl broke out in the area where the Beroangin public cemetery (TPU), Panampu, Tallo District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Regarding the cause of the fire, he said, it is still being investigated. However, from the information circulating, it was carried out intentionally during the clash between the two groups. In addition, it is suspected that jerry cans of talent were found at the crime scene (TKP).
"Most likely this was done on purpose. Because at the location there were also findings related to jerry cans containing fuel. And indeed during the brawl there were many firecracker explosions as well. But the cause of certainty is still being investigated by the police," he said.
Tallo Police Commissioner Syamsuardi confirmed that the fire was triggered by a group war. Although it is reported that someone died from an air rifle, his party is still investigating the incident.
"He said there was (died), but for that we are still doing an in-depth investigation, is it still investigating whether (the) bullets were or what," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Makassar Polrestabes AKBP Devi Sujana said that his party had dispersed the clashes between the village groups by deploying personnel from the Tallo, Criminal Investigation Unit, Sabhara and Satnarkoba intelligence to secure the situation at the TKP.
"Earlier there was a lot of people around here, so it requires security so that firefighters can enter in order to extinguish the fire to the maximum, that's the first," he explained.
Police are still investigating the Ppnyebab of the fire. Currently the police are conducting further investigations.
"During the brawl, members in uniform and members dressed in civilian clothes were dispersed. Meanwhile, we are still investigating the cause of the fire," said Devi.
When asked about the news that the victim died from an air rifle allegedly triggered clashes between groups, the police were still investigating.
"We are still investigating the cause. We are still collecting evidence, coordinating what the cause is. The police are always present to prevent, even though in that process we sometimes get resistance from parties who do brawls," he said.
