Asks Perpetrators Of Sexual Harassment Of Employees To Be Strictly Dealt With, Pramono: I Don't Want Transjakarta To Be Tarnished

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung asked the management of PT Transjakarta to take firm action against perpetrators of sexual harassment that occurred in the BUMD work environment in the transportation service sector.

"Transjakarta employees who are suspected of harassment, I have given a warning and I have ordered the President Director to make a decision or firmly because something like that should not happen in Transjakarta," Pramono said in North Jakarta, Tuesday, November 18.

Pramono does not want cases of harassment like this to damage the image of Transjakarta if management allows this incident to happen in the company owned by the DKI Provincial Government. Because, according to Pramono, the image of this regional company owned by the DKI Provincial Government has been considered good by the community.

Given, currently the reach of Transjakarta services has reached more than 90 percent with a total of about 1 million passengers per day. Plus, Transjakarta has also started recruiting people with disabilities to become employees and increasing the number of female workers as bus drivers.

"As we all know, Transjakarta is now a really good branding name. I don't want this later to be tarnished because someone has taken such actions and I ask to be reprimanded and dealt with firmly," said Pramono.

Previously, it was revealed that three employees of PT Transjakarta had been victims of sexual harassment by two of their superiors in the work environment since May 2025. This case was revealed by the Head of the Unit of the Digital Aerospace Workers Union and the Transpration of PT Transjakarta.

Transjakarta has opened its voice on this harassment case. Head of the Transjakarta Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, said the company would not tolerate violations related to violence or harassment in the workplace.

"Transjakarta opposes all forms of sexual violence and has carried out various campaigns both internally and externally. We have zero tolerance commitments," Ayu said in her statement.

According to Ayu, employees who are proven to have committed violations, in this case the perpetrators with the position of field coordinator have been subject to disciplinary sanctions according to company regulations.

"The employee concerned (field coordinator) has received disciplinary sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations (SP2)," said Ayu.

Ayu emphasized that Transjakarta will open space for further evaluation if new evidence is found or there are parties who are not satisfied with the results of an internal investigation.

"If there is new evidence and there is dissatisfaction with the verdict, management is very open to reprocessing the process. We are also committed to always being by the victim's side if this case is brought to the realm of law," he said.
