Police Question 6 Witnesses In South Tangerang Student Bullying Case After Allegedly Being Hit With A Chair

SOUTH TANGERANG – The South Tangerang Police have begun investigating the alleged bullying case involving MH (13), a student at SMPN 19 Tangsel City, who died after receiving treatment at Fatmawati Hospital in Jakarta.

South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Victor Daniel Henry Inkiriwang, stated that the legal process is ongoing even though there has been no official report from the family.

"We took the initiative from the start, without a police report or statement from the victim's parents," he said in Tangerang, Antara, Tuesday, November 18.

He explained that six people have been questioned as witnesses, including the victim's family and school officials. Victor said the number of witnesses is likely to increase.

In addition, the police will also seek expert testimony from the hospital that previously treated the victim before he was referred to Fatmawati Hospital.

"Because there was a sequence of events. Before the Fatmawati doctor, there was also another hospital that provided initial treatment," Victor said.

Previously, MH was reported to have died on Sunday, November 16, after receiving intensive care at Fatmawati Hospital.

"At half past six after morning prayers, it was reported that Hisyam was gone," said Alvian, the victim's family's attorney.

MH was allegedly bullied by his deskmate, who hit him with a chair. After the incident, the victim complained of pain. The medical team then diagnosed a brain tumor.

However, MH's family denied any history of the disease. According to Alvian, the victim's condition had worsened since being admitted.

"The victim's child was immediately taken to the hospital after two days of mediation with the family of the alleged bully. The family stated that the deceased had no history of illness," he said.
