ITTU PET Strengthens Environmental Social Concern Through The KolaboraSEA Energy Program
JAKARTA - Integrated Tanjung Uban Terminal (ITTU) PT Pertamina Energy Terminal (PET) reiterated its role as a strategic energy terminal that focuses not only on operational reliability, but also on social and environmental sustainability. Through a series of Stakeholder Engagement activities and the KolaboraSEA Energy program, ITTU continues to encourage efforts to empower the community and restore coastal ecosystems in the Tanjung Uban area.
Energy security must go hand in hand with social and environmental resilience. Through the KolaboraSEA Energy program, we want to ensure that the existence of ITTU brings benefits that are directly felt by the community, either through strengthening food security, increasing capacity, and improving coastal ecosystems," said Yohannes Mulatua Sianturi, Terminal Manager of IT Tanjung Uban, in a statement, Tuesday, November 18.
On this occasion, ITTU carried out a series of social and environmental activities through the KolaboraSEA Energy program, including the inauguration of Edu Tani House, aquaponic harvest, mangrove planting, and the installation of fish clumps. This activity aims to strengthen food security, coastal restoration, as well as empowerment of fishermen and farmer groups. As part of the program, it was inaugurated the Edu Tani House, an adaptive agricultural learning facility designed to improve the competence of farmer groups and communities in sustainable agricultural practices.
This inauguration is followed by the aquaponic main harvest, as one of the real achievements of the training that has been provided previously. This initiative further strengthens ITTU's commitment to supporting local food security through environmentally friendly and efficient agricultural methods.
In addition, as a form of concern for the coastal ecosystem of Tanjung Uban, ITTU together with the community carry out mangrove planting activities to prevent abrasion and improve the quality of the coastal environment, as well as the installation of fish clumps as an effort to revive the water ecosystem and support the economic resilience of local fishermen. This initiative is an important part of ITTU's mission to create sustainable environmental impacts and provide long-term benefits for coastal communities.
The series of KolaboraSEA Energy activities are proof that ITTU not only acts as a national energy node, but also as an agent of social and environmental change. Efforts to empower the community, strengthen food security, and coastal restoration show how this terminal runs its business by prioritizing sustainability and human values.
The social and environmental programs carried out by ITTU are a tangible manifestation of the company's responsibility to grow up with the community. PET believes that safe and reliable operations must be accompanied by consistent positive contributions to social development and environmental sustainability," said Bayu Prostiyono, President Director of PT Pertamina Energy Terminal.
