94 Palestinian Prisoners Died In Israeli Prisons Over The Last Two Years

JAKARTA - Israel's human rights organization, Physicians for Human Rights, reported 94 Palestinian prisoners had died in Israeli prisons over the past two years due to torture and refusal of medical treatment.

In its report published on its website Monday the association said the number had never happened before and was believed to be a much lower number due to the forced removal policy implemented since October 2023.

It was explained that between 7 October 2023 and August 2025, at least 46 Palestinians were killed in Israeli prisons under the Israel Prison Service, and 52 others, all from the Gaza Strip, were killed in military detention.

These figures include among the 94 documented cases in the report. Four other detainees died in October and November 2025.

The association stressed in its report that these figures without a doubt suggest the killing of Palestinians took place in all detention centers.

It is said, this is not a separate incident, but a policy implemented in all detention centers, Israeli and military Prison Services over the past two years.

The report further indicated preliminary findings from an autopsy report released by the detention family, along with testimony collected by lawyers visiting the prison, showed consistent pattern of severe violence, including head injuries, internal bleeding, and rib fractures.

In other cases, serious documented medical negligence, including cases of acute malnutrition and life-saving refusal of treatment.

The report also describes a method used by occupation authorities to hide deaths and prevent serious investigations into their circumstances.

The report noted that as a result of this cover-up effort, no one has been involved in this violation, which confirms the continuation of this pattern of concealment, lack of supervision, and rejection of institutional responsibility.

The association stated that the information contained in the report underscores the urgent need for independent international investigations to stop the killing policy, hold those responsible, and ensure justice for the families of the victims.
