Facebook Launches Content Protection Feature, Detects Content Repost Without Permit
JAKARTA - Meta announced it has launched a new feature called content protection or content protection on Facebook, which allows creators to protect the authenticity of their content.
This new feature emerged after many complaints from Facebook and Instagram creators regarding the large number of users re-uploading their content without permission.
Thus, this feature automatically detects when the original video creator is re-uploaded, both entirely and partially, on Facebook or Instagram, and allows creators to track when their videos are re-uploaded by others.
Your original work is your voice, and you must have the tools to protect it. That's why we created content protection," Meta wrote in an announcement on its official website quoted Tuesday, November 18.
Content protection uses the same matching technology as Meta's Rights Manager to detect potential matches with your Reel, specifically designed for creators.
So, when Facebook detects a match, you will receive a notification and be able to review details about the content, such as the number of views, the number of account followers, and others. You can then take action, directly from the Facebook app.

However, if you have given permission to a particular account to use your content, then you can add it to the "allowed list", so the match won't be marked to you.
Currently, automatic access to content protection is available to creators in Facebook Content Monetization program that meets improved integrity and originality standards.
Access to content protection on Facebook's mobile app will also be launched for creators who use Rights Manager.
