Russia Pockets Tens Of Billion US Dollars Of Arms Export Contracts
Russia declared its arms export contract portfolio in the Middle East and North Africa to reach tens of billions of US dollars.
Head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Dmitry Shugaev in an interview with RIA Novosti ahead of Dubai Airshow 2025, asserting that the Middle East, North Africa, and Near East regions have long been the main markets for the Russian defense industry.
Countries in the region, he said, contributed significantly to the entire Moscow military-technical contract.
He said the total current contract value reached tens of billions of US dollars', although it did not specify the exact number or destination country.

According to Shugaev, the biggest interest comes from countries that want to strengthen air defense capabilities, modernize armed forces, and reduce dependence on Western suppliers.
"Demands mainly lead to warplanes and transport, armored vehicles, air defense systems, drones, and various types of light weapons," he said.
