Rain, South And East Jakarta Inundated

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta has been subjected to rain with high intensity for several hours. As a result, a number of areas, especially in the South and East Jakarta areas, were inundated.

Head of the Data and Information Center for the Regional Disaster Management Agency, M. Insyaf, said of the 10 flooded areas, half of them are in South Jakarta. Meanwhile, the rest are in the East Jakarta area.

"A total of 20 RWs were affected by the flood. Most of them are in South Jakarta, there are 7 areas," said Insyaf to VOI, R2abu, April 29.

The water level in each area also varies. Based on available data, Kebon Baru Village, South Jakarta, is the worst-hit area with a water level of up to 90 centimeters.

Then, in Jati Padang Urban Village, South Jakarta, Insyaf continued, there were two flood points with water levels reaching 30 to 70 centimeters. The reason is because Kali Pulo, which is close to the area, is overflowing.

Meanwhile, in several other areas the water level is only around 15 to 50 centimeters. However, said Insyaf, the cause of flooding in dozens of RWs spread across South and East Jakarta was due to high rainfall.

"Kelurahan Kebon Baru 2 RW, the water level is 20 to 90 cm. All because of the high rainfall," concluded Insyaf.
