RI-Pakistan Affirm Support For Palestine
JAKARTA - The Republic of Indonesia and Pakistan affirm their commitment and support to continue to work together in defending the rights of the Palestinian people, as well as encouraging peace in the Middle East region.
Pakistan's Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said Indonesia and Pakistan are peace-loving countries. In addition, the two countries also have similar views regarding world peace, including in fighting for justice for Palestine.
"We both want to see peace return to the region. The two countries have a strong and consistent position on the Palestinian issue, supporting an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with a sustainable territory," Zahid said after holding a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Monday, November 17.
According to Zahid, Indonesia and Pakistan have collaborated in various international forums, such as PP and Organizations of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to promote peace for both national and international regions.
He emphasized that the two countries will strengthen coordination in efforts to protect the Palestinian people. The collaboration includes a push to ensure the rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determine.
"We will continue to work for the sake of peace in Palestine and continue to work together to protect the Palestinian people and fight for their rights, including the right to self-determine," he said.
