Agree To The Decision To Enlarge The DMO Portion, PTBA Asks The Government To Evaluate The Amount Of Price

JAKARTA - PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) confirmed that it approved the government's plan to increase the amount of the obligation to supply domestic coal or domestic market obligation (DMO).

PTBA Corporate Secretary Division Head Eko Prayitno said, despite supporting the plan, his party asked the government to evaluate the price of DMO which had been set at 70 US dollars per ton for power plants and 90 US dollars for the cement and fertilizer industry.

"PTBA views that the current DMO price policy needs to be reviewed taking into account market conditions and production costs that continue to increase," he said when contacted by VOI, Monday, November 17.

He added that PTBA hopes that with the change in policy, it will be able to maintain a balance between meeting domestic needs and the sustainability of mining business actors.

He further added, as part of the MIND ID Mining BUMN holding, PTBA fully supports government policies in ensuring national energy security.

Moreover, he said, in recent years, PTBA has succeeded in exceeding the DMO target set, with domestic supplies reaching more than 50 percent of total sales in several periods.

Padahal DMO ditetapkan sebesar 25 persen dari total produksi perusahaan.

It was recorded that until the end of September 2025, the realization of PTBA's DMO was 52 percent.

"This is proof of the company's commitment to realizing national energy security," he explained.

Eko said, PTBA is also consistent in continuing to increase its production capacity and investment in logistics infrastructure, such as the Tanjung Enim-Kramasan coal transportation project, to support more efficient distribution.

"On the other hand, PTBA remains focused on the efficiency of operational activities to ensure the continuity of supply, especially to the domestic market," he said.
