Complete Chronology of the Kidnapping Case of a State-Owned Bank Branch Manager Following a Reconstruction
JAKARTA – The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) conducted a reconstruction of the kidnapping and murder of the Branch Manager (Kacab) of a state-owned bank, Mohamad Ilham Pradipta (37), who was found dead in a rice field in Karangsambung Village, Bekasi, on Thursday, August 21, 2025. This reconstruction revealed that the kidnapping was carefully planned.
Investigator First Inspector Tugianto explained that the reconstruction resulted in 57 scenes, an increase from the initial plan of 47.
"The additional scenes relate to the transfer of the victim from an Avanza to a Fortuner, the giving of money to the perpetrator, and discrepancies in the statements from the suspects," he told the media at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) on Monday, November 17.
The reconstruction revealed a series of planned actions that began when the suspects gathered and ended at an empty lot in Bekasi.
It began when Erasmus Wawo and his group gathered at a coffee shop. As agreed, that day they decided to carry out the kidnapping of the bank branch manager, whom they had long targeted.
From there, Corporal FH handed over Rp 350,000 to Reviando Aquinas Handi to purchase supplies such as duct tape, a small towel, a mask, and several packs of cigarettes.
After preparations were complete, five men—Erasmus Wawo, Andre Tomatala, Johannes Ronald Sebenan, Emanuel Woda Bertho, and Reviando Aquinas Handi—set off in a white Avanza.
Corporate FH chose to drive a Calya with Sergeant FY. The two cars drove to Lotte Mart, with FH's car in the lead and the Avanza following behind.
During the trip, the Avanza stopped. Erasmus Wawo got out and covered the first two digits of the license plate with black duct tape.
The group then continued on their way. Upon arriving at the location, Emanuel Woda Bertho tapped the parking lot. Shortly afterward, the victim's black Ertiga entered and parked.
The white Avanza waited behind the victim's car. When MIP emerged and walked to his vehicle, Corporal FH informed Erasmus Wawo that the target had arrived.
Erasmus Wawo and Andre Tomatala immediately got out and forced the victim into the Avanza.
The victim struggled, but Reviando Aquinas Handi grabbed his collar, while Andre Tomatala held the victim's left side, and Erasmus Wawo taped his eyes and mouth shut.
As soon as the vehicle moved, Erasmus Wawo informed Corporal FH that the victim had been retrieved.
As they passed the Jaya Military Command (Kodam Jaya), the victim struggled again. Erasmus Wawo restrained him and punched him in the thigh three times, then punched him in the forehead, threatening him.
Shortly after, the victim was again kneed. Erasmus then contacted FH and agreed to meet in Kemayoran.
At the meeting point, the Avanza met a black Fortuner driven by Umri and carrying Johanes Joko and Mochamad Nasir.
Nasir had requested that the victim be transferred after circling around Tanjung Priok, but Erasmus refused, saying the longer the victim was detained, the greater the risk.
The victim's hands were then tied. Erasmus called Johanes Joko to help transfer the victim to the Fortuner. The victim shouted, "Help, this is a kidnapping," but his mouth was taped shut again. The victim's thigh was kicked twice before the car door was closed.
After the transfer, Corporal FH handed Erasmus Wawo Rp 45 million as payment for the kidnapping. The money was then divided among the five officers directly involved.
Inside the Fortuner, the victim's condition began to weaken. Only slight groans and slight hand movements were heard. Midway through the trip to Cikarang, David Setia Darmawan took over as driver.
At around 12:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, the Fortuner arrived at an empty lot in Bekasi Regency. There, the victim was unloaded. Mochamad Nasir wrapped a towel around the victim's neck, pulled the body out, dragged it, and then threw it to the ground.
After the dumping was complete, the perpetrators went to a gas station to change clothes.
The group then gathered at a cafe in the Cibubur area—Anton, Dwi Hartono, Rochmat, Johanes Joko, and Nasir—to discuss the outcome of the kidnapping, which reportedly did not go according to plan.
At that time, Dwi Hartono received a call from someone named Ken informing him that the victim had been found dead and that the case had gone viral. Upon hearing this, Joko immediately took his phone and threw it away.
The perpetrators' primary motive was financial crime. They attempted to exploit the victim's authority as branch manager to transfer funds from a dormant account to an account they had prepared.
Because the victim refused to comply, he was kidnapped and then abused to death.
The police have identified approximately 15 suspects and divided them into several clusters based on their respective roles.
