KIPP Papua Mountains Built 2026-2027, 3 Main Offices Will Spend IDR 4 Trillion

WAMENA - The Department of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) of the Papua Province of the Mountains ensured that the construction of the governor's office, the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP), and the Papuan People's Representative Council (DPR) of the Mountains will be completed in 2027.

Head of the Papua PUPR Service for the Tunggubean Mountains, W Panggabean, said that the construction project for the three main buildings, located in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of the Gunung Susu LIPI, Isakusa Village, Hubikosi District, Jayawijaya Regency, is expected to begin in June or July 2026.

"According to the work contract, development will last for one year, starting from June or July 2026 to 2027 for three main offices, namely the offices of governors, MRP, and the DPR Papua Mountains," he said, quoted from Antara, Monday, November 16.

The statement was made after the final report seminar on the KIPP Papua Mountains master plan (masterplan) which was completed this year. Early next year, the auction process to other technical stages began to accelerate development.

"After the final master plan report is complete, we will hand it over to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works, and the Ministry of PKP. Then an auction process will be carried out," said Tunggul.

He explained that the total budget for the construction of the KIPP Papua Mountains, which includes the governor's office, the MRP office, the DPR office, ASN housing, mosques, churches, and other facilities in an area of 122.5 hectares, reached around Rp19 trillion.

"The budget is indeed large, approximately Rp. 19 trillion. It cannot use the APBD, but the APBN. From the start we have proposed it to the central government because the APBD is not enough," he said.

Of the total budget, the construction of three priority offices requires around IDR 4 trillion.

"For the three offices that will be built first, the cost is approximately Rp. 4 trillion out of a total of Rp. 19 trillion. This large budget certainly cannot use the APBD," said Tunggul.

He added that the local government had proposed that the construction of KIPP Papua Mountains be included in the National Strategic Project (PSN) for eastern Indonesia, given the enormous budget requirement.

“Kami sudah mendorong agar pembangunan KIPP Papua Pegunungan masuk PSN sehingga seluruhnya dibiayai APBN,” ujarnya.

"We have encouraged the construction of KIPP Papua Mountains to enter PSN so that everything is financed by the state budget," he said.
