Prabowo Targets 1 Million Smartboards To Be Installed In Schools Starting Next Year

BEKASI - President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government will increase the scale of the Learning Digitization Program starting next year with a target of installing around 1 million smartboard panels or interactive flat panels (IFPs) in schools throughout Indonesia.

The President said this step was a continuation of the acceleration of the distribution of devices that had been going on since mid-2025.

"It means, next year we will install, God willing, 1 million panels, something like that," Prabowo said at the launch of the program at SMPN 4 Bekasi City, quoted from Antara, Monday, November 16.

The President assessed that signs of program success are starting to appear, but he reminded his staff not to be complacent. He stressed the need to enrich learning content and open up to the best sources of material from around the world.

Prabowo also instructed the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education to form a special team to review and adjust content, including international education animations, to be relevant to the needs of Indonesian children.

According to him, the availability of quality content and equitable access to technology is the key in realizing a more modern and inclusive national education transformation.

To date, the process of sending smartphone devices has reached 215,572 units. A total of 172,550 units have arrived in schools, while 43,022 others are still on their way. The government targets all devices to arrive at recipient schools no later than December 2025.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has provided training to 64,000 teachers. The implementation of training was also strengthened by 1,450 Digital Education Fighters who played a mentor in the use of IFP and the Education House platform.
