Only 3 Months, Indosat Anti-Spam And Anti-Scam Features Prevent 200 Million Fraud Efforts

JAKARTA - Since its launch on August 7, 2025, Indosat Ooredoo's Anti-Spam and Anti-Scam features Hutchison have blocked more than 200 million risky calls against users.

Not only that, this feature has also given warnings to more than 90 million suspicious messages, and protects an average of 11.5 million subscribers per month from potential digital fraud.

"This technology is designed to help customers of various ages to be able to explore the digital world with more confidence," said Indosat Ooredoo Director and Chief Commercial Officer Hutchison, Bilal Khazmi.

This feature is one of Indosat's efforts to answer the urgency of digital protection was also emphasized by the GASA State of Scams in Indonesia 2025 report released at the end of last August.

The report notes that 66% of adults in Indonesia have experienced fraud attempts in the past year, with 14% of them losing money with a total loss of IDR 49 trillion (equivalent to 3.3 billion US dollars).

Most frauds occur through direct-message platforms, such as instant messages (instant-messaging) and SMS. In addition to the financial impact, 51% of people who are victims of fraud have stated that they are experiencing stress due to this.

Based on internal data, more than 290 million spam calls have been identified on the VoLTE network. If extrapolated to all customers, since the Anti-Spam and Anti-Scam features were launched, there have been more than 500 million SMS and identified scam/spam calls.

In addition, more than 145 million spam and scam messages have been marked, including 110 million fraudulent messages (fraudulent).
