PTPP Ready To Synergize In The Construction Of Glass Factory In Batang

JAKARTA - State-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the construction of the First Factory in the Integrated Industrial Area (KIT) Batang or Grand Batang City. The construction of the first factory in KIT Batang was marked by the groundbreaking procession held on Thursday, May 20, at the construction site, Central Java.

The event was also attended by Minister of Investment or Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, President Director of PTPP Novel Arsyad, Director of Corporate Strategy &HCM ptpp Yul Ari Pramuraharjo, CEO of KCC Glass Corporation Kim Nae Hoan, President Director of KCC Glass Indonesia Lee Young Min, Repubilc of Korea Ambassador Park Tae-Sung, Governor of Central Java Province Ganjar Pranowo, Regent of Batang Wihaji, and other officials.

KCC Glass Corporation is the largest glass manufacturer in Southeast Asia originating from South Korea. The company will occupy an area of 49 hectares with an investment value of around Rp5 trillion. The construction process is planned to be completed in 2023 and start operating in 2024.

Previously, KCC Glass Corporation had two factories for producing glass located in Yeoju and Jeonui, South Korea. In the ministry of investment /BKPM, South Korea ranked third in the country of investment realization in the first quarter of 2021 with a total investment value of 0.9 billion US dollars derived from 1,220 projects.

"With the presence of KCC Glass Corporation in KIT Batang will have a lot of positive impact on the Indonesian economy. We hope that the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of the first tenant factory will be a trigger for large foreign and domestic investors to invest in ukKIT Batang," said PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad in his written statement on Saturday, May 22.

Novel Arsyad added, it is confident that the presence of KCC Glass in KIT Batang will certainly bring a positive impact to the economy and hope in opening new jobs and increasing broader cooperation between Indonesia-Korea for the people of Batang, Central Java in particular and the Indonesian community at large.

"With the Groundbreaking Ceremony KCC Glass Corp. for us not only as a symbol of the start of the development of the KCC Glass industry, but also as a symbol of invitation to other investors to immediately follow in the footsteps of KCC Glass Corporation," added Novel Arsyad.

Kit Batang development project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) initiated by the government and aims to encourage the strengthening of the industrial sector in Indonesia. Therefore,

KIT Batang is located in Batang Regency, Central Java Province which has a total land area to be developed covering an area of 4,300 hectares. Kit Batang development is divided into three clusters, namely Cluster I covering 3,100 hectares, Cluster II covering 800 hectares, and Cluster III covering 400 hectares.

KIT Batang is one of the preferred areas offered to be a new industrial center where with the opening of the area is expected to bring foreign investors to invest in Indonesia.
