Kumamoto Masters 2025 Complete Results: Indonesia No Title
JAKARTA Indonesia failed to bring home a single title from the 2025 Japanese Kumamoto Masters event after Gregoria Mariska Tunjung completed her journey in the tournament as runner-up.
Gregoria, who reached the last round as the fourth seed, failed to secure the title after losing two straight games 16-21 and 20-22 against Ratchanok Intanon (Thailand) on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
The badminton player from Wonogiri is the only Indonesian representative who can reach the final round of the five representatives who play there.
"Still giving thanks to be able to return to the podium even though this is not the best result I can achieve. There are many positive things that can be taken from Kumamoto Masters this year," said Gregoria.

The Japanese Kumamoto Masters 2025 is Gregoria's furthest journey on this year's tour calendar. He previously only stepped in the semifinals at the 2025 India Open in January.
After that, the results obtained by the owner of the 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medal went up and down. He always came home in the early rounds and missed a lot of tournaments due to vertigo problems.
"Turnamen Kumamoto is arguably lucky, didn't expect it to be this far because a few months ago was very heavy. The evaluation from here must be physically and in endurance, it needs to be improved again," said Gregoria.
Thailand came out as the overall champion at the 2025 Kumamoto Masters with two titles. Apart from the women's singles, they also won in mixed doubles through Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Supissara Paewsampran.
The first seeded pair beat Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue (France) in a fierce three-game match.
From the men's doubles sector, the title was brought home by Kim Won-ho/Seo Seung-jae. The South Korean pair defeated the host representative Hiroki Midorikawa/Kyohei Yamashita.
Furthermore, in the women's doubles, the highest podium is occupied by Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan. The first seed also defeated the host, Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi.
Japan brought home the only title from Kumamoto through the men's singles Kodai Naraoka, who defeated compatriot Kenta Nishimoto.
