GAC Officially Launches the Aion i60, A 5-Passenger SUV Available in EV and EREV Versions

JAKARTA – GAC Aion has officially introduced its newest SUV, the Aion i60, priced from 109,800 to 135,800 yuan, or approximately Rp258–319 million. This model is a five-passenger compact SUV and offers two drivetrain options: pure electric (EV) and Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV).

Citing Carnewschina, Monday, November 17, the extended-range version of the Aion i60 is equipped with GAC's Xingyuan technology, which allows the car to travel up to 210 km in pure electric mode (CLTC), and supports 3C fast charging. Meanwhile, for users who want a full-electric experience, the EV variant offers a maximum range of 650 km.

Fresher and More Modern Design

The Aion i60 features a new, more expressive front fascia. Its main highlight is its sharp, upward-slanting headlights with two LED light sources, complemented by elongated daytime running lights (DRLs) at the top. The Aion logo is placed prominently in the center of the fascia, while the front bumper retains the familiar air intake design.

From the side, the silhouette of the Aion i60 looks quite similar to the Aion V—not surprising, as both share a 2,775 mm wheelbase. However, the Aion i60 is slightly longer by 105 mm, giving it a more robust SUV-like proportion.

Its dimensions are 4,685 mm long, 1,854 mm wide, and 1,660 mm high, making it competitive in its class.

Interior with a Futuristic Touch

Stepping inside, the Aion i60 carries the Aion V's two-tone design philosophy, but with a cleaner and more modern look. This SUV is equipped with a scroll-wheel steering wheel, a square-shaped center control display that appears to float, and a digital instrument cluster that gives it a futuristic feel.

For driving comfort, the Aion i60 is also equipped with GSD intelligent driver assistance technology that supports NDA (Navigation Driving Assist) and HPA (Intelligent Parking Assist) features.

Two Powertrain Options

The Aion i60 comes with powertrain options tailored to user needs:

EV (Pure Electric) Variant

Equipped with a 75 kWh battery with a maximum range of 650 km.

EREV (Extended Range) Variant

Using a 1.5L 74 kW engine as a range extender, it offers a pure electric range of 210 km CLTC, and a total range of up to 1,240 km.

With a combination of modern design, cutting-edge technology, and flexible powertrain options, the Aion i60 is one of the compact electric SUVs worth considering in today's automotive market.
