Rugaiya Usman: The Figure Of Teduh Behind General Wiranto's Long Career
JAKARTA The public today remembers the figure of the late Rugaiya Usman, wife of the Presidential Special Advisor for Political and Security Affairs, General (Ret.) Wiranto, who is known as a strong companion behind her husband's career journey.
Rugaiya Usman breathed his last on Sunday, November 16, at 15.55 WIB in Bandung. This sad news was immediately spread and invited condolences from various circles, both from the political and military environment.
The body was then taken to Jakarta to be buried at the funeral home on Palem Kartika Street Number 21, Pambu Apus PATI-AD Complex, East Jakarta. The body is scheduled to arrive around 22.00 WIB.
Rugaiya's life reflects loyalty, fortitude, and dedication to his family and society. Uga and Wiranto married on February 22 after their meeting in Gorontalo, where Wiranto served as platoon commanders.
From this marriage, this couple has three children: two daughters, Lia and Maya, and a son, Zainal Nur Rizky, who later died while studying religion in South Africa.
As a humble and religious person, Uga is a moral supporter in the family. He is known to be gentle but firm, providing spiritual and emotional support to his husband and children. His presence became the foundation of calm and strength for the journey of military careers to Wiranto's politics.
Although rarely highlighted by the media, Uga is active in various social activities. He is noted to have served as Chairman of the Jakarta branch of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), showing his commitment to humanitarian work.
A tough test befell the family when Zainal died. Despite being hit, Uga showed extraordinary fortitude and continued to accompany her husband and maintain family harmony.
