Police Reveal Chronology Of Two Children Run Over By Cars In Cipinang, Head Of Sub-Directorate Of Gakkum: Cases Completed In Deliberation

JAKARTA - Four children who were playing with the ground in the car storage parking area in Cipinang Besar Selatan, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, were driven by the Toyota Kijang Innova car.

CCTV footage shows seconds as the driver turns his vehicle around and doesn't see the four boys squatting in front of him.

Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ojo Ruslani confirmed. The incident occurred at around 15.00 WIB, on Thursday, November 13, 2025 yesterday.

The incident began when the PA driver (22) was about to enter the parking area. When turning, the car immediately hit the two children who were at the front, namely CDPK (10) and AAS (2). Both were dragged and injured. The two victims had undergone treatment at the Friendship Hospital, East Jakarta.

"CDPK suffered injuries to the torn right temple, torn left cheek, abrasion waist. AAS suffered cuts to the left leg, bruises to his right leg, abrasions to his face," he said in a written statement, Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Ojo explained that the driver allegedly did not realize that there were children squatting in the parking area.

"The driver at the turn did not see any children," he said

Regarding this incident, the police secured the driver's car, STNK, and driver's driver's driver's driver's driver's driver's driver's license as evidence. The East Jakarta Police Traffic Unit also conducted a crime scene investigation, examined witnesses, and asked for a post-mortem from the hospital.

Ojo emphasized that the case was resolved by deliberation between family and driver.

"Children discharged from the hospital were resolved by deliberations," he said.
