Canceled Sentra Fauna Lenteng Agung, Pramono: Air-Electricity Is Not Ready

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung canceled the inauguration of the opening of Lenteng Agung Sentra and Culinary, South Jakarta. Initially, the inauguration of a new place for the relocation of Peliharaan Barito Animal Market traders was scheduled to be inaugurated on Saturday, November 16.

The decision was taken after Pramono received reports that a handful of facilities at Sentra Fauna and Culinary Lenteng Agung were not fully ready, such as providing water and electricity.

"So, I canceled it. Because I don't want it to be right, water, electricity, and so on," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Sunday, November 16.

According to Pramono, in general the fauna and culinary center buildings have been completed. However, he did not want the inauguration to be carried out just because the physical structure was completed without ensuring the basic needs of traders to function optimally.

"Actually, the facilities are ready, ready. But since childhood it's not ready, I don't want to. For what? Our responsibility is to provide comfort for the traders we move," said Pramono.

He emphasized that the readiness of clean water, electricity, and other supporting is a priority so that traders do not experience problems when they start occupying new locations. The DKI Provincial Government wants to ensure all aspects work before the center is officially opened.

Pramono also ensured that the Provincial Government would provide incentives for traders who would later move to Sentra Fauna and Culinary Lenteng Agung. They will be exempt from rental fees for the first six months.

"And if they are ready to move then, we will free them since they took the place, 6 months. So I want them to be comfortable selling there," he said.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officially transferred the traders of the Peliharaan Animal Market Barito to the Fauna Center and Lenteng Agung Culinary, South Jakarta, along with their stalls.

The transfer was carried out after the DKI Provincial Government issued a third warning letter (SP3) to a number of traders who previously remained in the Barito Market area on the edge of Ayodya Park, Kebayoran Baru.

Sentra Fauna and Culinary Lenteng Agung have 125 kiosks with various functions. The facility consists of 22 culinary kiosks in zone A, amphitheaters in zone B, 74 bird stalls and animal feed in zones C and D, as well as 29 additional parsel stalls and culinary delights in zone E.

The DKI Provincial Government also complements the area with various public facilities, such as toilets, prayer rooms, and parking areas. In addition, art and cultural performance areas and social interaction rooms are provided. Pramono said that the DKI Provincial Government will hold various promotional activities so that traders in the new location are increasingly recognized by the public.

With the move of the traders of Pasar Barito, the DKI Provincial Government can continue the plan to build the Pusaka Flag Park, which will combine Langsat Park, Ayodya Park, and Leuser Park into one integrated green area.
