Israel Blocked Aid Despite Gazans Facing Extreme Rain, Palestine Asks The World To Take Action
JAKARTA - Palestine is urging the international community, especially the United States (US) government and guarantor countries of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, to pressure Israel to accelerate the distribution of portable homes and tents to the Gaza Strip.
Citing WAFA, Saturday local time, the pressure was conveyed considering that the rainy season had approached the Gaza Strip was sometimes extreme, threatening the safety of Gaza's population, especially those who were still taking refuge in tents because their residences were destroyed due to Israeli military attacks.
The refugee tents that are currently left and used in Gaza have been old, torn, and unfit, so they cannot prevent rainwater from entering and barely protect civilians.
The ceasefire agreement in Gaza was still accompanied by strict restrictions by Israel even though urgent aid items were sent.
Israel's obstacles were also urged by the Palestinian Presidency to be abolished or reduced, so that the process of assisting portable homes, tents, and essential housing equipment sent by them could be immediately obtained by Gazans.
Not without reason, the delivery of aid is to overcome the ongoing humanitarian crisis, while protecting vulnerable groups in Gaza, including children, women, and the elderly, from the serious dangers posed by extreme weather conditions.
