Kartini Museum Inaugurated, Fadli Zon: Commitment To Advance National Culture

JEPARA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon inaugurated the Kartini Museum at the Pendopo of Jepara Regency, Saturday, November 15, 2025. The building, which was previously the official residence of the Regent of Jepara, is now being converted into a museum that contains RA Kartini's history, traces, and documentation.

Fadli Zon called the change in pendopo to a museum a real step to advance culture. What used to be a house, is now a Kartini Museum. This is a commitment to advance national culture," he said.

He reviewed the exhibition room featuring Kartini's archives, family photos, and historical objects. According to him, the storyline and show off has been well-ordered, but it still needs to strengthen technology.

"Storyline and show off are good. We just have to complete the digital touch to make it more lively," he said. He assessed that immersive elements and documentaries can make museums more interactive for students and tourists.

The Minister of Culture also emphasized the function of the museum as a space for education and cultural activities. The 'Soul' is very pronounced. Teaching places, bedrooms, Kartini contemplation locations, are all here," he said.

Fadli Zon assesses Kartini's values remain relevant, especially for the younger generation. "Kartini, even though she lives only 25 years, still inspires women to get rights and education," he said.

Present at the inauguration were Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Lestari Moerdijat, a number of members of the DPR, Regent of Jepara Witiarso Utomo, Deputy Regent Muhammad Ibnu Hajar, and ranks of the Jepara Forkopimda. From the Ministry was present by the Director General of PPPK Ahmad Mahendra, Director of History and Summary Agus Mulyana, and related ranks.

Fadli Zon emphasized the Ministry's commitment to supporting the development of museums, including digital technology, educational programs, and cultural activities. "We hope that this museum will become a tourist destination, children's learning space, as well as a cultural economy machine through local creativity," he said. Kartini Museum is now ready to become a center for education, historical tourism, and cultural space that revives the spirit of emancipation.
