The Ministry Of Industry Pamer Pharmacy And Cosmetic Products Of The Republic Of Indonesia Reaches The American Market To Europe

JAKARTA - Indonesia's pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries are said to have exported a lot to Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Oceania. The export achievements cover various categories, ranging from self-care products, cosmetics, medicines, health supplements to raw materials such as atsiri oil.

In the cosmetics and self-care industry sector, Indonesian companies managed to penetrate the market with innovative products. PT Priority Jaya Indonesia, for example, has exported the variant of papaya soap ( Jinzu and Thai brands) to Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Nigeria and the Pacific Islands.

In addition, perfume variants (brands Honor and Vlagio) have also been exported to Malaysia and the Philippines. The same thing was also done by PT Malidas Sterilindo who exported bath soap and shampoo with the dorzu brand to Malaysia. PT Gemma Natura Lestari also made achievements by exporting Shumi brand products to Japan and Secrets brands to Nigeria.

Indonesia's manufacturing power is also supported by global-scale factories. PT Yasulor Indonesia (LOREal), which is the largest LOREAL group factory in the world, dedicates 60 percent of its production capacity to the export market.

Its products have reached nearly 20 countries, including countries in ASEAN, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Australia, Korea and South Africa. Likewise, Unilever Indonesia with its various brands has exported its various products to 22 countries.

In the pharmaceutical industry sector, PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk has successfully exported its flagship products to the Philippines, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.

BUMN Pharmacy, PT Indofarma Tbk, contributed by exporting six medicinal products to Afghanistan, three medicinal products to Singapore and two medicinal products to Cambodia. PT Phapros has also exported various types of medicinal products and medical supplements to Timor Leste, Peru and Cambodia.

Big pharmaceutical groups, such as Dexa Group, show a very wide range of exports, covering countries in Southeast Asia (Philippines, Myanmar), Europe (England, Netherlands, Poland), the United States (United States, Canada) and Africa (Nigeria). PT Konnimex has also exported its various types of products to Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Canada.

The uniqueness of Indonesian herbal products is also in demand by the global market. PT Setia Kawan Abadi, for example, managed to export Golden Koffie and Go-Slim products to Nigeria as well as Pinoy Jamu Booster and Integra products to the Philippines.

In addition, PT Sinkona Indonesia Lestari is noted to have been able to export various types of atsiri oil which have been used as cosmetic raw materials, such as: tilap oil, perfume and palm oil to various countries.

Director General of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Taufiek Bawazier said the export success was validation of high quality standards and innovations implemented by the Indonesian pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry.

"We see increasing demand for products that combine quality natural ingredients with modern technology. The ability to penetrate various markets proves that Indonesian products have global competitiveness," said Taufiek in a written statement, Saturday, November 15.

According to Taufiek, this achievement confirms the increasing confidence of the world community in the standards, quality and innovation of pharmaceutical products and cosmetics made in Indonesia.

"This achievement shows the resilience and growth of Indonesia's strategic manufacturing sector and not only contributes significantly to the country's foreign exchange, but also strengthens Indonesia's image as a quality pharmaceutical and cosmetic producer in the world," he concluded.
