Papua Prosecutor's Office Investigate Allegations Of Development Corruption At UBP In Wamena
JAYAPURA - The Papua High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has escalated an investigation into an investigation into allegations of corruption within the University of Baliem Papua in Wamena, Papua Mountains.
"Currently, the case has been upgraded from investigation to investigation after investigators conducted a case related to the case," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the Papua Attorney General's Office Nixon Mahuse in Jayapura, Saturday.
According to Nixon, investigators from the Papua Prosecutor's Office have investigated the alleged criminal act of corruption in road construction in the Baliem University Papua Campus area at the Public Works and Public Housing Office of Papua Province, Mountains, for the 2024 fiscal year.
He said as many as six people had been questioned, both from the Papua Mountains Provincial Government and service providers.
He explained that the case began with a contract in June 2024 with PT. NM for the construction of the rectorate building of the University of Baliem Papua Wamena and other supporting facilities with a total value of Rp. 135,767,000,000.
"The allocated funds come from additional infrastructure funds (DTI) for the 2024 fiscal year with an implementation time of 196 calendar days," he said.
According to him, the work cannot be carried out because additional infrastructure funds cannot be used for building development so that it is carried out using a new format addendum in the form of a joint lumsum contract agreement letter and the price of a construction work package by changing the name of the work to the construction of a road within the campus area of the University of Baliem Papua for the 2024 fiscal year.
"This change also has an impact on the budget, from 135,767,000,000 to Rp68,251,610,000," said Nixon.
He explained that the PUPR Papua Mountains Service carried out the construction of roads carried out by PT.NM, but no planning and supervision were carried out in early November and ended December 31, 2024.
The down payment of Rp13,650,322,000 or 20 percent used for fuel mobilization and operations as well as taxes and some were handed over by service providers to parties amounting to Rp8 billion.
"Based on the report on the results of the BPK examination, it was found that the overpayment was Rp. 8,497,624,000," said Aspidsus Kejati Papua Nixon Mahuse.
