Buy Synthetic Tobacco Through Social Media 12 Junior High School Students Fostered By Police
SERANG - A total of 12 junior high school students in Kibin District, Serang Regency, Banten Province, were revealed to have bought synthetic tobacco-type narcotics through Instagram social media so that they are now undergoing special guidance from the Cikande Sector Police (Polsek).
The Head of Cikande Police, AKP Tatang, in Serang, Saturday, explained that the modus operandi of the students was revealed after his party conducted an in-depth investigation into the findings of synthetic tobacco evidence at a school.
The students, he continued, admitted that they got the illicit goods by buying together through an Instagram account called "Story Jane".
"The account (Instagram) is located in the Cilegon City area," he explained.
He explained that transactions were carried out face-to-face. After ordering and paying, the students took the synthetic tobacco package using the mapping method (relocation sign).
"The teenagers took goods by picking up packages that had been stored at a point in the Ciwandan area, Cilegon City. This mode is commonly used by dealers to avoid direct interactions," he explained.
Following up on these findings, the Cikande Police immediately coordinated with the school and parents of students. The coaching step was chosen as an early prevention effort so that students do not fall further.
"The students underwent spiritual and mental (Binrohtal) coaching for one week in a row in the school environment to strengthen character and increase awareness," he said.
In addition to coaching from the police, the school also gave strict sanctions in the form of the last warning letter. Given that the students are now in grade 9 and will graduate in four months, the school insists that they will immediately issue students if similar violations are repeated.
