Trump Make Sure The US Is Ready For Another Nuclear Test
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump said the United States would conduct nuclear tests because other countries are also doing the same thing.
He emphasized that the US has more nuclear weapons than other countries.
"I was the one who renovated it and built some, and I hate to do it, but I have no choice, because they have it," Trump said on a flight on the Air Force One presidential plane.
Earlier on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Trump's pledge to continue nuclear testing aimed at verifying weapons security.
"We will conduct nuclear tests like other countries do. We have more nuclear weapons than any country and we have to test them," Trump said on his way to Florida.
However, he said he was interested in denuclearization or nuclear weapons stripping.
"We have more [nuclear weapons]. Russia is number two, and China is far in third place, but in four or five years, they will be on par with us. What I want to do is denuclearize," Trump said.
Last week, Trump claimed to have ordered the US Department of War's old name Department of Defense to immediately resume nuclear testing.
He explained that the order was given because "the other parties conducted trials" and it was "exact" for the US to follow these developments.
