The 2025 EBT Mix Target Is Not Achieved, The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Reports Only 14.4 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) revealed that the new renewable energy (EBT) target in the 2025 national energy mix was not achieved.

Acting Director General (Dirjen) of Electricity Tri Winarno reported, until October 2025, the EBT mix had only reached 14.4 percent or 15.47 gigawatts (GW).

In fact, based on the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) PLN 2025-2034 this year is targeted at 15.9 percent.

"In 2025, it looks like there are still 2 percent left, I don't think so," Tri said, quoted on Friday, November 14.

He added that the installed capacity of Indonesian power plants reached 107 GW as of October 2025.

Meanwhile, the portion of EBT generators was recorded at only 14.4 percent or 15.47 GW.

Tri also detailed that the portion of the Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) has the largest portion of the total EBT power plant, which is 7.1 percent or the equivalent of 7.57 GW.

Followed, the Biomass Power Plant is 3 percent or the equivalent of 3.17 GW.

Kemudian, Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas Bumi (PLTP) sebesar 2,6 persen atau sebesar 2,74 GW.

Lalu Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) menyumbang sebesar 1,3 persen dari total pembangkit dengan kapasitas terpasang sebesar 1,37 GW.

Selanjutnya, Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Bayu (PLTB) tercatat hanya sebesar 0,1 persen atau baru sebesar 0,15 GW.

Then, the Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) is 2.6 percent or 2.74 GW.

Then the Solar Power Plant (PLTS) contributed 1.3 percent of the total power plants with an installed capacity of 1.37 GW.

Furthermore, the Bayu Power Plant (PLTB) was recorded at only 0.1 percent or only 0.15 GW.
