The White House Will Free The Tariff Of Goods To Lower Food Prices
JAKARTA - The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to waive tariffs for a number of goods categories to lower domestic food prices.
This news was reported by The New York Times newspaper citing several sources.
As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik-OANA, Friday, November 14, the change will apply to a number of reciprocal rates announced by the president in April, including tariffs on goods from countries that have not signed a trade agreement with Washington.
The report states that beef and oranges are expected to be included in the exception.
However, the report also notes that Trump has yet to make a final decision on the plan.
On Tuesday, Trump promised to lower coffee rates amid rising commodity prices.
