House Of Representatives Commission IV Encourages Red And White Cooperatives To Distributor Subsidized Fertilizers

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Alex Indra Lukman, encourages administrators of the Red and White Cooperatives (KMP) throughout Indonesia, to take the opportunity to become distributors and retailers of subsidized fertilizers, along with the increase in demand from farmers.

Alex revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture noted that there was an increase in demand for subsidized fertilizers by 20 percent after the decline in the Highest Retail Price (HET) of fertilizers which had been in effect since October 22, 2025.

Demand from farmers is increasing. Naughty distributors and retailers have also revoked their permits. The KMP management must immediately seize this opportunity, because it will have an impact on the greater circulation of money in villages which will certainly move the wheels of the economy," Alex told reporters, Friday, November 14.

Alex also positively welcomed the impact resulting from the decline in subsidized fertilizer HET by 20 percent, according to the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture Number 1117/Kpts./SR.310/M/10/2025 dated October 22, 2025 concerning Amendments to the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture Number 800/KPTS./SR.310/M/09/2025 concerning Types, Highest Retail Price and Allocation of Subsidized Fertilizer in the Agriculture Sector for Fiscal Year 2025.

This decrease includes all types of subsidized fertilizer used by farmers, namely urea from Rp2,250 per kilogram to Rp1,800 per kilogram, NPK from Rp2,300 per kilogram to Rp1,840 per kilogram.

Then, cocoa NPK from IDR 3,300 per kilogram to IDR 2,640 per kilogram, special ZA sugar cane from IDR 1,700 per kilogram to IDR 1,360 per kilogram. As well as organic fertilizer from IDR 800 per kilogram to IDR 640 per kilogram.

Alex, who is also the Chair of the Padi and Corn Absorption Committee of Commission IV of the DPR RI, also asked the Ministry of Agriculture to continue to improve the distribution pattern so that the opportunity for fraud is increasingly closed.

"Commission IV wants this decrease in the HET of fertilizer to be enjoyed by farmers in order to realize the target of food self-sufficiency that becomes Asta Cita Presiden Prabowo," explained Alex.

The PDIP legislator from the West Sumatra I electoral district also fully supports the Ministry of Agriculture's firm action in cracking down on rogue distributors and retailers. However, Alex warned that there are still opportunities for subsidized fertilizer misappropriation to the plantation area, as the price disparities between subsidies and non-subsidized ones become wider.

"If the supervision of this distribution is ignored, it will be very possible that this subsidized fertilizer will be misappropriated to plantations as happened in subsidized fuel," said Alex.
