Joint SAR Team Finds 1 Landslide Disaster Victim In Cilacap

The joint search and rescue (SAR) team coordinated by the Cilacap SAR Office found one victim of a landslide in Cibeunying Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java.

On Scene Coordinator (OSC) Cilacap SAR Office Priyo Prayudha Utama said the victim on behalf of Yuni was found dead in the Worksite B-1 area at 10.43 WIB during a search operation at the landslide location.

Before Yuni's body was evacuated from the location of the discovery, he said, the joint SAR team first removed the avalanche material which was quite a lot of hoarding the victim's body.

"The victim was successfully evacuated at 10.56 WIB and immediately taken to Majenang Hospital," he said in Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap, Antara, Friday, November 14.

He said the search process was carried out by a joint SAR team involving various elements, ranging from BPBD Cilacap Regency, Basarnas SAR Office Cilacap, TNI, Polri, volunteers, to the surrounding community, while still prioritizing the safety of personnel in the field.

According to him, the B-1 Worksite where Yuni's body was found was part of the village of Tarukuhan Hamlet, Cibeunying Village.

In this case, the landslide disaster occurred on Thursday (13/11), around 19.00 WIB, and buried a number of houses in Tarukahan Hamlet and Cibuyut Hamlet, Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap.

Based on preliminary data collection after the incident, the total number of victims reached 46 people, consisting of 23 survivors, two deaths, and 21 people reported missing.

In this regard, the joint SAR team was deployed at points where there were estimated victims buried, namely Worksite A-1 as many as three people in the search, A-2 seven people, A-3 four people, B-1 four people, and B-2 three people.

"With these latest findings, data updates show that a total of 20 people are still being searched, consisting of seven residents of Tarukuhan Hamlet and 13 residents of Cibuyut Hamlet," said Priyo.
