Ribka Tjiptaning Ready To Face Police Reports: There Are Millions Of Witnesses Suharto Serious Human Rights Violators

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Ribka Tjiptaning is ready to face a police report for refusing the title of hero for Suharto. He said many witnesses who agreed that the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia was violators of human rights (HAM).

This was conveyed by Ribka in response to a report made by the Anti Hoax People's Alliance (ARAH) to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police some time ago. He admitted that he would participate in the legal process even if it was continued to trial because many had experienced human rights crimes in the New Order era.

"There are still millions of victims and families of victims of the Suharto crime who are ready to testify," Ribka told reporters, Friday, November 14.

"There are still many victims of 65, victims of the Mysterious Shooting (Petrus), victims of Tanjung Priuk, Lampung, Aceh and Papua, even Timor Leste who are ready to testify. The victims of kidnappings are even now working in the Prabowo and Gibran governments. The full thing is please google yourself. It's useless to cover it up because the people are already smart," he continued.

Ribka also said that the state had acknowledged 12 incidents of gross human rights violations in the past. This moment occurred in the era of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"President Jokowi on behalf of the state has officially acknowledged and regretted the 12 gross human rights violations from Aceh to Papua," he said.

Even so, Ribka highlighted reporting on herself. According to him, in a democratic country, everyone should have freedom of expression.

"Your opinion may be different from mine. President Jokowi's view of gross human rights violations can be different from President Prabowo who appointed Suharto as a National Hero. Please compete with data and facts so that this nation is smart," said the former legislator of the DPR RI.

The DIRECTION reported Ribka Tjiptaning to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police because Suharto's statement "the killer of millions of people" was misleading. "From the police, our report was well received. Indeed, there are several procedural stages such as counseling and so on. So the status is a public complaint," said the DIRECTION Representative, Muhamad Iqbal to reporters, at the Police Criminal Investigation Building, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 12.

Iqbal emphasized that this report was not carried out on behalf of the Suharto family. "We just feel that Mrs. Ribka's statement is very misleading because it is not based on facts," he said.

"We have attached several evidence documents in the form of screenshots from Mrs. Ribka's statement. We recorded the seconds of her statement, in which she mentioned that Suharto killed millions of people. We made that evidence," continued Iqbal.
