Garuda Indonesia Premium Service Ready To Return After IDR 23.67 Trillion Capital Injection

TANGERANG - Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) Dony Oskaria ensured that the premium Garuda Indonesia service would recover in line with the capital injection of IDR 23.67 trillion which was disbursed to the state-owned airline.

Dony said, the capital injection will be used not only to improve financial performance, but also to restore the standard of typical Garuda Indonesia services.

Furthermore, Dony said the entertainment system on the Garuda Indonesia plane was also last updated in 2018. The entertainment in question starts from adding the latest collections of films and series, music, to reactivating access to WIFI services.

"Regarding Garuda Indonesia's services in the near future, this inflight entertainment will be felt directly by the community. Our inflight entertainment, which was previously from 2018, has never been upgraded," he said at a press conference at Garuda Center Operations, Tangerang, Banten, Thursday, November 13.

"Mr. Glenny (President Director of Garuda Indonesia) has confirmed that wifi will return to life for our planes," he continued.

In addition, Dony said that his party together with Garuda Indonesia will review the quality of food services for passengers during flights.

"Because this is very important to provide a positive image to all of our passengers," he said.

Not only in the air, the transformation will also be carried out at facilities on land. Dony said, the lounge area and the check-in counter at the airport will be overhauled so that the customer experience becomes more comfortable and modern.

"We will transform the lounge. We will transform the check-in counter which will be directly felt by the community," he said.

Dony emphasized that although the financial impact of the capital injection will be seen in the third quarter of 2026, the improvement in services will begin to be felt by the community in the near future.

"So if we feel a little financial impact in the third quarter. But the service will start, we have asked the team to immediately give a significant impact and be felt by the community," he said.
