Police Have Arrested The Main Perpetrator Of The Shooting Of Residents In Lhokseumawe

BANDA ACEH - Lhokseumawe Resort Police together with Jatanras Aceh Regional Police arrested a suspected perpetrator of the shooting of M.Nasir, a resident of Gampong Alue Lim, Blang Mangat District, Lhokseumawe City. The other four perpetrators are still being chased.

"One perpetrator with the initials AG, a resident of West Lancang Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, we arrested this morning at 06.15 WIB in the Bireuen Regency area," said Lhokseumawe Police Chief AKBPAhzan at a press conference reported by ANTARA, Thursday, November 13.

The shooting incident occurred on Monday (10/11) in the morning at around 00.15 WIB. At that time the victim was near his house and was then visited by two men.

Not long after, a black car stopped at the location. After that, two gunshots were heard and the victim Nasir was found lying on the side of the road in a lifeless condition.

The police chief explained that the shooting incident began with a transfer of Rp90 million to the victim on November 7, 2025. Then the perpetrator came to the victim to ask for accountability and the Rp90 million.

However, the victim said that the money had been used to pay off debts. Because there was no common ground, the victim was finally shot twice by the perpetrator and died.

"The perpetrator AG is strongly suspected of being the executor in the crime of murder of victim M.Nasir," said the Police Chief.

Based on the results of the investigation and search of the perpetrator's house, the police confiscated a number of evidences in the form of a pistol, two 9-millimeter caliber ammunition casings, three 9-millimeter caliber active ammunition, and a white Avanza car used by the perpetrators.

In addition, the police are also still hunting for several other people who are now on the wanted list (DPO), namely the initials RU, MJ, JL, and IB. The four are suspected of having played a role in the shooting case, including the party who ordered or funded the murder.

"We have secured the main perpetrator and an intensive examination is being carried out. Meanwhile, several other people are still being chased. We will reveal the entire network involved," he said.

"For other perpetrators, we carried out developments, related to money transfers, then possession of weapons from this case," continued the Police Chief.

The suspect was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison, as well as Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning Ownership of Illegal Firearms with a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

"Lhokseumawe Police are committed to resolving this case in a professional and transparent manner. We also urge the public to remain calm and not be provoked by issues that are not necessarily true," said Azhan.
