Israeli President Asks Jewish Settlers To Stop Violence Against Palestinians In The West Bank

JAKARTA - Israeli President Isaac Herzog denounced the attacks by Jewish settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank. He called for an end to the growing wave of settlers' violence in the occupied territories.

Isaac Herzog called the attack "surprisingly and seriously". Herzog's position, although largely ceremonial, is meant to be a moral compass and a unifying force for the country.

Herzog said the violence perpetrated by "twisted" perpetrators "passed the red limit,".

All state authorities must act decisively to eradicate this phenomenon, reported by the Associated Press, Thursday, November 13.

His remarks came after dozens of masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villages Beit Lid and Deir Sharaf in the West Bank on Tuesday, burning vehicles and other properties before clashes with Israeli soldiers.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Israel reopened the crossing into the northern Gaza Strip which had been closed for two months.

The move was welcomed by officials at the United Nations (UN) who said Israel had been too slow to deliver humanitarian aid to the region since the ceasefire began last month.

Assistance has been sent to Gaza since October 10 via two crossings in southern and central Gaza.
