Kia Seltos New Generation Launches Next Month, Comes With Hybrid And E-AWD Choices

JAKARTA - Kia Seltos is confirmed to launch on December 10, and the model will mark a major evolution for Kia's popular compact SUV, by presenting a hybrid powertrain for the first time as well as a self-developed e-AWD system.

The initiative aims to balance the demand for slow electric vehicles (EVs) with growing global interest in hybrid engines.

According to the latest internal schedule, the mass production of next-generation Seltos will begin in August 2026 at the Kia Autoland Gwangju plant, following its global debut in December 2025.

As is known, since its first launch in 2019, Kia Seltos has been offered with gasoline and diesel engines, although diesel options were later removed due to falling demand.

The launch of this hybrid variant marks a turning point for this model, which combines fuel efficiency with lower performance and emissions improvements.

The next generation of Seltos will be available in gasoline and hybrid versions, with the hybrid variant expected to function as a core model for domestic and international markets.

There is no lattice about the mechanical, but it is estimated that it uses a 1.6 liter GDi hybrid system from Kia Niro or Hyundai Kona Hybrid which produces up to 141 hp of power.

If confirmed, this step will significantly increase the energy and efficiency of the SUV, so that Seltos is more in line with models in higher segments.
