Regarding The Mitsubishi Fuso And Hino Mergers In Japan, How About In Indonesia?

JAKARTA - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation and Hino Motors Ltd officially merged in Japan, which will give birth to a new entity called Archion starting in 2026.

The merger, which took place in the middle of this year, will change its second business scheme in Japan. One of the major steps taken is to reduce the number of domestic truck production locations from five to three, focusing on the Kawasaki Factory (Kanagawa prefecture), Koga Factory (Ibaraki prefecture), and Nitta Factory ( Gunma prefecture).

As part of the restructuring, Fuso will close the Nakatsu Factory in Aikawa, while Hino will transfer the Hamura Factory in Tokyo to Toyota. So, how will it impact operations in Indonesia?

Responding to this, Sales and Marketing Director of PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), Aji Jaya, said that his party had not yet received detailed information regarding the impact of the merger on operational activities in Indonesia.

"There is no detailed information regarding the impact directly on the operations of Fuso and Hino in Indonesia so far," said Aji when met on the sidelines of the visit of the KTB factory in Cakung, East Jakarta, Wednesday, November 12.

He added, so far what is known is that this collaboration occurs at the principal level, including product development, component procurement, and various other efficiency measures. For in Indonesia, operational activities are still running normally as usual. Until now there has been no impact," he concluded.
