The Environment and Forestry Law Enforcement Agency Has Discovered Cyanide Poisoning in the Illegal Gold Mining Area in Sekotong, West Lombok.

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Environmental and Forestry Law Enforcement and Security Agency (Gakkum LHK) for the Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (Jabalnusra) Region have discovered cyanide in illegal gold mining activities in the Sekotong area, West Lombok Regency.

Jabalnusra Gakkum LHK investigator Mustaan ​​stated that this evidence supports the decision to upgrade the case to an investigation.

"Yes, there are indications of cyanide poisoning," he said when contacted in Mataram on Thursday, as reported by Antara.

Therefore, the investigation into the alleged mining activities carried out by a number of foreign workers from China is leading to allegations of violations of the Environmental Protection and Management Law.

In completing the documents, The Environment and Forestry Law Enforcement Agency (Gakkum LHK) has questioned the relevant parties, including PT Indotan Lombok Barat Bangkit, the holder of the mining business permit whose location is being used for Chinese foreign workers' mining activities, and community leader Lalu Daryadi, also known as Miq Dar, and his relatives from Sekotong.

Mustaan ​​stated that the investigation into the case is no longer under the control of the Jabalnusra Regional Law Enforcement Agency (Gakkum LHK) and has been delegated to the Ministry of Environment.

"So, the Ministry of Environment is handling it. They will follow up on the case, and we have submitted the files. The process is ongoing," Mustaan ​​said.

He emphasized that his office has delegated the case, including documents from the Jabalnusra Regional Law Enforcement Agency's investigation.
