Nova Arianto Gets Appreciation From Shin Tae-yong After Escorting Indonesia U-17 At The 2025 U-17 World Cup

JAKARTA - The former coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, appreciated Nova Arianto for having just escorted the U-17 Indonesian national team to appear at the 2025 U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite failing to advance to the round of 32, the U-17 Indonesian national team was able to make a new history in the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

Garuda Nusantara won the first victory after defeating Honduras U-17 with a score of 2-1 in the last match of Group H, which took place at Field 2 Aspire Zone, Doha, Monday, November 11, 2025.

The victory is an important history because it is the first for Garuda Muda in the U-17 World Cup tournament.

This is what makes Shin Tae-yong appreciate the hard work of Nova Arianto and the U-17 Indonesian national team because they have made new history at the 2025 U-17 World Cup.

"Coach Nova, good job. The World Cup (U-17) is not an easy tournament. Hopefully you can be a source of support for the progress of Indonesian football. You really did a great job," Shin Tae-yong commented on Nova Arianto's upload on Instagram.

Indonesia U-17's achievement at the 2025 U-17 World Cup is different from the 2023 U-17 World Cup.

At the 2023 U-17 World Cup, Indonesia U-17 did not win by recording two draws and one loss. The U-17 Indonesian national team's steps were stopped in the group stage at that time.

While at the 2025 U-17 World Cup, the U-17 Indonesian national team lost 1-3 to Zambia U-17 in the inaugural match. Then, Garuda Muda lost 0-4 to Brazil U-17. Finally, they won 2-1 against Honduras U-17.

This result makes the Indonesian U-17 national team finish in third place in Group H with three points from three matches.

Unfortunately, this result was not enough to lead the U-17 Indonesian national team to qualify for the last 32 of the 2025 U-17 World Cup through the best third-placed route.

Indonesia U-17 only occupies the 10th position in the top third place standings, while only the top eight are entitled to the knockout stages.
